Walter Bryan Pittman, of Dinwiddie, VA, passed away after a short illness on July 25, 2025, at the age of 46. Bryan had a long career with Dinwiddie County Schools as a teacher, coach, and director of the alternative school, Encompass Learning Center. He was trusted and respected by the community and beloved by many.

The community and education system in Dinwiddie lost a gem. He focused on the lives of youths helping to get them on a good path for life by supporting so many youth programs. He was quick to assist and slow to pass judgement when supporting the students under his watch by helping them to graduate and move on to be productive citizens. He supported the local community in so many ways. He never wanted the spotlight on himself; he only wanted to stay behind the camera, computer, or on the sidelines, so others could shine. He was genuine of heart, giving, and one of the kindest souls.

His Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Dinwiddie County High School. A reception will follow the service, in the cafeteria, at the school.

In keeping with Bryan’s spirit the family has requested casual attire to be worn to the celebration of life service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Encompass Learning Center Student Activities Fund are welcome and greatly appreciated. These funds will help support student field trips and address other student needs within the Encompass Learning Center community.
