2020-2021 Kindergarten Registration Day
Coming Soon

Parents can register their upcoming kindergarten student during Kindergarten Registration Week, usually held in April.  There will be one day with extended hours from 9 am to 7 pm.

Please check back soon on the official dates. We encourage you to register your child early, even if you do not have all required documents.  This will enable us to better plan our kindergarten 2020-2021 budget.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible to register?

Any child who will be five years old on or before September 30, 2020, can register for Kindergarten.

Where do I register my child?

Registration will be held at any elementary school in the division.

What do I need to bring?

At the time of registration, please have with you an original birth certificate, social security number, record of immunizations, proof of residency, and any custody papers, if needed. Prior to school opening, each child must have on file at the school he/she will attend, a completed School Entrance Health form MCH 213G that documents health information, the comprehensive physical examination, and immunization reporting requirements as required by Virginia law. A copy of this form is available at the school, pediatrician’s office, or health department. Proof of the examination must be on file at the school before the child is officially enrolled.

What is proof of residency?

Acceptable documents for proof of residency include: valid photo ID, lease, mortgage statement or deed, and a current utility bill (water, electricity, gas). Two additional documents with current address are required. Additional documentation will be required if the parent/legal guardians name is NOT on the lease, mortgage statement or deed.
