Secondary- CTE Work Based Learning Program (WBL)
Dinwiddie County Public Schools' Work-Based Learning (WBL) program provides students with the opportunity to gain real-world career experience before graduation. Through internships with local business partners and placements within the school division, students move beyond the classroom and into authentic work environments, developing hands-on skills in fields aligned with their interests. Whether a student's career interests lie in business, healthcare, education, or public service, WBL placements allow them to build practical skills, establish professional connections, and explore future career paths.
Students may also gain valuable experience through school-based enterprises offered within several CTE courses, where they operate a functioning business on campus, managing daily operations and engaging directly with customers under the guidance of their instructor. Throughout their WBL experience, students track their progress and accomplishments and have the opportunity to earn industry credentials recognized by employers. Through these varied opportunities, Dinwiddie County Public Schools' Work-Based Learning program equips students with the practical experience and professional skills needed for success beyond high school.
