Special Education Parent Resource Center

The Parent Resource Center (PRC) is dedicated to supporting families of students with disabilities. Our goal is to help parents take an active role in their children’s education and growth. We aim to strengthen the connection between families and schools by providing computer access, resources, training, and support. The PRC offers a wealth of resources designed to aid in the education and development of students in Dinwiddie.

What Is Special Education?

The Individuals with Disability Education Act guarantees a free appropriate public education to all eligible children with disabilities. Special education means specially designed instruction, at no cost to the parent, to meet the unique needs of a child with a disability. The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) offers extensive information about services, processes, and more online:  VDOE Special Education Website
