We would like to inform you of important revisions to the SY 25-26 Academic Calendar. May 28, 2026 was originally scheduled as an early- release day for students but will now be a full instructional day. This change will allow us to recover additional instructional time lost on February 23, 2026, and March 16, 2026.

This adjustment has been made to ensure we meet instructional time requirements under the VA Code. All classes will now follow the regular full-day schedule and current release times. Additionally, Sunnyside Elementary will be open to students on May 29, 2026, to make up for lost instruction and school closure due to a town wide outage on February 5 and 6. May 29 will remain a Teacher Work Day for all other locations.
