Elementary-Family Engagement

At Dinwiddie County Public Schools, we believe that a child's education is a shared journey, and that families are essential partners every step of the way. We are committed to meaningful and sustained family engagement that goes beyond compliance; it is a cornerstone of how we serve students and communities. In accordance with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), each of our five Title I elementary schools maintains a dedicated Family Engagement Plan designed to build the capacity of families to support their children's academic success. Through the work of our Family and Community Engagement Specialist, DCPS connects families to resources, learning opportunities, and school partnerships that strengthen the home-to-school connection. We believe that informed, engaged families are one of the most powerful forces in a child's educational journey and we are committed to making that partnership accessible, welcoming, and impactful for every family we serve. Because when families and schools work together, students thrive.
