Dinwiddie County Public Schools is committed to maintaining the safety of our students, staff, families, and the entire Dinwiddie community.  We are providing this regularly-updated report with the locations and number of confirmed COVID-19 cases within the school division.  Anyone considered to be a close contact (“exposure”)* of a confirmed case will be contacted directly by a DCPS school administrator or school nurse regarding the need for quarantine. All other families in the location of the confirmed case will receive a notification letter from your child’s school.  DCPS works in collaboration with the Crater Department of Health and follows the CDC and VDH guidelines.

A close contact is defined as being within 6 feet for a cumulative 15 minutes or longer to an infected individual.

Staff notifications of positive cases in school buildings and/or departments are made by DCPS Human Resources.  An email is sent to the employees of the impacted location(s).
