Dec. 5 – DECA Wins Big

District 20 DECA Leadership Conference was hosted by Dinwiddie High School on Wednesday, December 5.  The conference was attended by  Colonial Heights, Hopewell, Prince George, and Dinwiddie.  The competition included a comprehensive test, and two role plays.  1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall winners are eligible to attend the DECA State Leadership Conference in March at Virginia Beach.  The DECA advisors are June M. Pate and Natonya Robinson-Williams.

The following is a list of the result for Dinwiddie students.

  • Justin Gregory:  Selling – 1st place
  • Kennedy Bland:  Job Interview – 3rd place
  • Amya Street:  Apparel and Accessories – 2nd place
  • Timiyah Sprately:  Marketing Role Play – 2nd place, Channel Management Role Play – 3rd place, and Overall in Apparel and Accessories – 2nd place.
  • Brian Wilkins:  Automotive Services – 2nd place in the Comprehensive test, Customer Relations Role Play – 3rd place, Promotion Role Play,  and 3rd place overall
  • R.J. Rhodes:  Business Services Marketing – 1st place in the Comprehensive test, Customer Relations Role Play – 2nd place, Emotional Intelligence Role Play – 1st place, and 1st place overall.
  • Camille Tatum:  Food Marketing – 3rd place in the Comprehensive test, Customer Relations Role Play – 2nd place, Product/Service Management Role Play – 2nd, and 2nd place overall
  • Courtney Tatum:  Food Marketing – 2nd in the comprehensive test, Customer Relations Role Play – 3rd place, Product/Service Management Role Play – 3rd place, and 3rd place overall
  • Indigo Peterson – In Marketing Communications Customer Relations Role Play – 3rd place, and 3rd place overall
  • Michel’le Pooler:  Quick-Service Restaurant Management – 3rd in the comprehensive test
  • MaLeigha Booker:  Comprehensive Test – 2nd place, Information Management Role Play – 2nd place, and Product/Service Management Role Play – 1st place, and 2nd place overall
  • Arieana Akintomide:  Comprehensive Test – 1st place, Information Management Role Play – 3rd placed, Product/Service Management Role Play – 2nd place, and 1st place overall.
  • Asia Goode:  Restaurant Food Service – 1st place in the comprehensive test
  • Malik Robertson:  Retail Merchandising Operations Role Play – 3rd place
  • Arika Bowman:  Principles of Marketing – 1st place in the comprehensive test
