Dr. Yardley Farquharson

Dr. Yardley Farquharson is director of Assessment and Student Services for Dinwiddie County Public Schools.  Ms. Farquharson coordinates testing and assessment programs for the division. Working with qualified teams of teachers, guidance counselors, and many other educational professionals, she is assisted by Mrs. Sharon Beard.  By working together with educators, students, parents, and the community, Dinwiddie County strives to increase student performance to prepare them for higher education or to enter a field of vocation.

In addition, Dr. Yardley Farquharson administers all student services within our division by coordinating a number of federal and state grants

and serving as chair on a number of committees (including the Promotion/Retention Committee, Gifted Advisory Board, Health Services Board, and the Safe and Drug Free Schools Board). From developing resources to meet student needs, evaluating existing plans, coordinating after-school remediation programs, implementing student health and safety related curriculum, overseeing the gifted program plus many other areas, Dinwiddie County Public Schools is committed in the overall well-being of the total student to help them succeed in life.

Due to the severe weather forecast for the afternoon, DCPS will be closing a half day. Secondary schools will be released at 11:00 am. Elementary schools will release at 12 noon. All afternoon activities are cancelled for today.
