Pamela Fields

Dr. Pamela Fields is the director of exceptional education and oversees the many aspects of the department. Under her purview she supports various staff from social workers, psychologists, and therapists who assist Dinwiddie County Public Schools’ special education population. The Child Study process, evaluation for services, development of Individualized Education Plans (IEP) and their implementation, and Homebound Services Coordinator all fall under the special education department.

Dr. Fields also supervises Coordinator of Exceptional Education Alicia Haggins, who is responsible for elementary special education which includes Early Childhood Special Education, Bright Stars (4 year old at-risk program), and Child Find. In addition, the speech pathologists and educational diagnosticians in an effort to better serve our students’ needs.

Educational Diagnostician Alicia Lee assists with testing and evaluating students for Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) and/or services for Dinwiddie County Public Schools.

Due to the severe weather forecast for the afternoon, DCPS will be closing a half day. Secondary schools will be released at 11:00 am. Elementary schools will release at 12 noon. All afternoon activities are cancelled for today.
